– What is Masa Israel Teaching Fellows? –

Masa Israel Teaching Fellows is an initiative of Israel’s Ministry of Education and Masa Israel Journey that works to close the achievement gap in Israel’s education system.

After completing training through the Ministry of Education, fellows lead English-language activities and serve as mentors and role models at public schools in cities in Israel’s economic periphery.

This selective, 10-month fellowship is highly subsidized and includes a round-trip flight to Israel, housing, and a monthly living stipend.

"I’ve had experiences far beyond anything I could have dreamt for myself, created networks far more reaching than I could have foreseen and become part of a community a world away from home."

– Work where you’re needed most –

As a Masa Israel Teaching Fellow, you will work in one of 13 cities across Israel.

Love the beach? Teach in the coastal cities of Netanya and Rishon LeZion, or the nearby Petach Tikvah, Ramle and Lod.

Prefer luscious greenery? Teach in the North in the close-knit community of Beit She’an.

Work on coexistence initiatives in Nazareth and Migdal HaEmek

Become a role model for Jewish and Bedouin youth in the desert communities of Be’er Sheva and Rahat.

Immerse yourself in a communal environment at a youth village, a kibbutz-style boarding school for at-risk youth.

– Make a lasting impact –

Tahal, 6th grade student in Petach Tikvah
“I remember one time I studied for a test with them. We played a game where we split into groups and it was fun to learn this way. We did a pantomime game that I loved .I hope to
keep in touch with them. It is so much fun with them and they are so friendly. I would not have learned English so well if not for them. My English improvesbetter when I’m with them than when I am in class.”
